FEDCO in partnership with ACDI/VOCA and funded by USDA, implemented a CoCoPal project named Cacao Banana Agri-Enterprise Development Project or CBAED, which was patterned based on ACDI/VOCA’s original CoCopal project except that FEDCO focused on Cacao only - coconut and palay were not included in the implementation. Forty (40) identified CoCoPal Farmer Leaders (CFLs) underwent a one week training of trainers’ workshop. They were oriented about the CoCoPal project; learned on how to handle training sessions using the simplified CacaoCheck System; Farm Planning and Decision Making as a guide in the establishment of their learning site (LS) and Farming as a Business (FaaB). In the establishment of the Learning site (LS) CFL were provided with seedlings, basic farming tools and inputs. Each CFL conducted Farmer Field School (FFS) and farmers trained are expected to decide and make their own farm plan, practice the technology, and uses the concept of FaaB.
